Mom`s Old Fashioned Butterscotch Pie

1 cup packed light brown sugar 4 tablespoons cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups milk
2 egg yolks, beaten 1 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked

In top of double boiler, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk. Stir and keep stirring until it thickens.
Mix in egg yolks, stir and keep cooking until it thickens.
Remove from heat, and add butter or margarine and vanilla. Keep stirring.
Pour into cooked pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes or until brown.

If you don't have a double boiler, don't worry. It will still work just fine just use medium heat and stir constantly .Tastes great with whipped cream on top.

Place a white seven-day candle in the window to guide the Dead to the Spirit World. Light the candle and say:
"O little flame that burns so bright 
be a beacon on this night. 
Light the path for all the Dead, 
that they may see now what's ahead. 
And lead them to the Summerland
and shine until Pan takes their hands.

Because this is a time of endings, magick is often performed to get rid of unsavory personal characteristics or break bad habits. Just write the characteristic trait or habit on a piece of paper, light it, and toss it into the cauldron or fireproof dish, saying:

Rest peacefully in Darkness,
deep Until the Yuletide fest begins.
And You are born to us again."
Then extinguish all candles to signify His absence.

To feed the Dead on their journey and gain their blessings, either leave or bury a few apples and a pomegranate outdoors after libation. As you leave the fruit say:

"O Fruit of Death and Fruit of Life,
Fruit that eases mortal strife.
Ease the hunger of the Dead.
Until They reach Their final stead,
Be food enough for everyone.
Until Their journey's fully done."

Cursed Water. This is a variant of holly water that is specifically formulated for those who carry demonic blood/spirits. 
To do this you need jalapeno oil/extract, sulfur powder, and water. You simply bring the water to a boil and add the sulfur, jalapeno oil to the water. And then you say your “curse” or “blessing”. The more heart felt the better. You then let the water cool, and fill the viles. 
While Cursed Water is often used in darker magic, it is primary use is has holly water for those that can't easily handle “Normal” holly water. May this prove of value.

pe for blessed or holy water. There are a number of forms. This is the one I prefer is simple but effective. I bring a pot of water to boil and add see salt and rose petals or oil. While it is boiling, I say a simple blessing. “May the lord and lady bless this with the touch of the sun and the dark of the moon.” Then I let it cool. Then I fill my viles and often give away whats left over.

For those living in the Northern hemisphere.

As All Hallows Eve approaches, it's time to get rid of old troubles. Remember, Samhain is also the start of the New Year. If you live where you can build a small fire each night, write a list of up to 7 things you want to see removed out of your life. Make two copies. Each night, starting tonight, put one item from the list into the fire. As you watch the piece of paper burn, see it being removed out of your life with your will and Intent. On Samhain/All Hallows Eve/Halloween, put the full list from the other copy into the fire. If possible, build a large fire on this night. If you can't build a fire outside, light the paper in a safe object in a sink near water inside.

Smudging is an ancient and sacred ceremony. Perform it with full awareness and in a slow, mindful manner.

The herbs most commonly used in a smudge stick are sage, cedar, sweetgrass and lavender. You can make your own little bundles with sage and lavender if you like. You might choose to use a colorful string to hold the herbs together. 

Over time, even the happiest homes accumulate negative vibrations, so it is good to smudge your home thoroughly at least several times a year. You can also smudge your office space and use smudging to clear personal energy.

How to Smudge Your Home

You will need:

Smudge stick
Candle and matches
A fireproof container with sand in the bottom

Instructions:

1. Place the candle, the fireproof container and the smudge stick on a table, desk or any other appropriate surface. It is best if you create a sense of ceremony when you smudge your home, as well as find time when you will not be disturbed; about 15 minutes should be enough.

2. Light the candle and say a prayer or just focus your energy. Light the tip of your smudge stick with a candle light, then gently wave the stick in the air till the tip begins to smoulder.

3. Hold the smudge stick over the fireproof container at all times in order to keep any lit herbs from falling on your clothes, draperies, bedding, furniture or the floor. Many people use a feather, others simply wave their hands to disperse the smoke. In theory, wafting the smoke of the smudge stick with a feather keeps the negative energy from attaching to your hand. Stay connected to your breathing throughout your smudging session.

4. Go clockwise (counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere) around your home (usually starting at the front door), and gently wave the smoke into the air. Spend a bit more time smudging the room corners, as they tend to accumulate stagnant energy. Be sure to also open the closet doors and carefully smudge inside. Do not forget about spaces such as the halls, the laundry room, the garage or the basement.

5. When you have smudged all areas of your house, return to where you started and gently extinguish your smudge stick (dipping it into sand while applying a bit of pressure usually works well). Wait a bit, then pack away your smudge stick, as well as the container, until your next smudging session. You can leave the candle, if you so desire, to continue to purify the energy.

4. Some people prefer to begin with the soles of the feet, going up both sides of the legs, torso and arms, and then finishing by smudging the space above the head. See what works best for you.

5. The same steps apply when you are asked to smudge somebody else, be it a friend or a child. It is usually a good idea to smudge yourself before, as well as after you smudge the house.

• 4 1/4 cup cocoa krispies

• 6 reese's peanut butter cups, chopped

instructions

1. in a large sauce pan over medium heat, melt the sugar, corn syrup, and peanut butter until smooth and evenly combined.
2. remove from heat.
3. quickly add the salt and cereal and stir to combine thoroughly. add the chocolate chips and stir again. wait about 1 min and add the candy, quickly folding the mixture together so as to not smash up the candy.
4. line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop rounded tablespoons onto the sheet. let cool and devour!

DRAGON'S BLOOD SALT~

Dragon's Blood Salt can be used in spells for Protection, Power, Courage, Life Changes and to Consecrate Ritual Tools.

How to make~

With the intent of what you will be using your Dragon's Blood Salt for, you will mix together Dragon's Blood Powdered Resin, and Sea Salt, or whatever type of Salt you like using best. Mix and blend well in a Mortar and Pestle, all while placing your energies and intent into the Salt mix. You may even put a drop of Dragon's Blood essential oil into the mixture.

Tip~ Use double the Salt to the amount of Dragon's Blood used. Store in a jar, in a cool, dry place.

BLACK WITCHES SALT~

Black Salt is used in paths such as Voodoo and Santeria among a few others. Often referred to as Witches Salt, Drive Away Salt, Voodoo Salt and Santeria Salt. It is used in Spell work for stopping Hexes and Curses, to Hex or Curse someone, Protection and Banishing of negative energies and Spirits. 

How to make~ 

In your Cauldron, you will burn Protective and Banishing herbs such as Sage, Birch, Cumin, Dill leaves, Fennel, Fern, Marjoram, Mint, Mugwort, Mustard, Black Pepper, Parsley, Rosemary or Wormwood.

Scrape the inside of the Cauldron when done burning into a Mortar and Pestle, and mix with Sea Salt. Place your intent energies of what you will need this Salt for as you blend into the mix.

* Store in a jar. Place in a cool, dry place.

BLUE WITCHES SALT~

Blue Salt is used to protect against the Evil Eye, for Healing and Justice in court & legal matters. 

It can be placed under the bed of someone who is sick, to help heal.

It can be used in doing an invisibility spell as well. (Invisibilities do not make your physical body disappear, for those new to the Craft. They simply create a glide of eyes situation, where people will not notice you when they should).

Used with Black Salt in Spell work can reverse bad luck.

How to make~

In a Mortar and Pestle blend together Sea Salt (or any Salt of your choice) and Blue Flowers or Herbs of your choosing such as Blue Thistle or Blue Iris, along with blue food coloring if you so choose. While blending keep your intent of what you will be using the salt for in mind, placing all your energies into the Salt.

PURPLE WITCHES SALT~

Purple Witches Salt can be used in Spell work for Peace, Clearing of negative energies, opening and clearing the Third Eye Chakra, and building Intuition, Psychic abilities and Dreamwork.

How to make~

In a Mortar and Pestle, blend together Sea Salt, Purple Herbs and Flowers of your choice, such as Lavender or Lilac, and purple food coloring if you choose. Imagine the intent of why you are using this Salt, as you place the energies into the blend.

* Double Salt to other ingredients. Store in a jar in a cool, dry place. 

RED WITCHES SALT~

Red Salt can be used in Spell work that involves, Love, Romance, Passion, Sex drive, Lust for life. It can be attuned with the Sacral and Heart Chakra.

Used in Spell work with Black Salt, can return a Spell to sender. 

Place around the bed, can spice up your sex life. If you and your partner carry in a sachet, it will help keep love strong.

How to make~

In a Mortar and Pestle, blend together Sea Salt, and Paprika or Cayenne Pepper, and red food coloring if you choose. Place intent energies into the blend, of what it is you will be using the Salt for.

First Snow Spell/Blessing

We were blessed this full moon day with the first snow. Remember to gather fresh clean snow from the first snowfall you see of the year to make your renewal water. This water can be used to wash your skin, to renew and refresh your youthful feelings. This is a time of enhancement and beauty as the Earth takes on a fresh new face. You can also use the water to renew a relationship, love or renew commitments to yourself or to others. Use the snow to melt into water, then add the comforts of your heart, be it a spice, stone or flower. I had a rose that was special to me so I added that to the water. The melted snow water then is ready for your spell/wish/blessings. I personally do not believe these can be common spells found around on the internet. They must come from your soul. Ask your heart for guidance and your our own personal words will come to you at the time you need them. Remember to honor the Mother for this gift. When the moon is full place your water in the moon light to fill your desires of your spell. ~BB~

NO-BAKED PEANUT BUTTER CORN FLAKES BARS

Ingredients 
3 cups crushed corn flakes
1 cup smoothy peanut butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup golden corn syrup
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup butterscotch chips
1 tbsp evaporated milk
Directions:
Heat peanut butter, brown sugar and corn syrup over low heat to melt. Stir in crushed cornflakes 1 cup at a time.
Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler and spread over the top of the square. Melt the butterscotch chips with the evaporated milk and drizzle over the chocolate.
Variation: Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips together, spread onto the square, and top while still warm with nuts, or a mixture of pretzel sticks and peanuts for a sweet and salty treat.

Habanero Peach Jam
recipe barely adapted from The View from Great Island
Yield: (6) 1/2 pint jars

2 lbs diced peaches, about 5 1/2 cups
2 lbs white sugar, about 5 cups
3 habaneros, very finely diced (remove the seeds for less heat)
juice of 1 lemon, about 1/4 cup juice

Combine all ingredients in a large heavy bottomed pot. Stir and let the mixture rest at room temperature for an hour. The peaches will release their juices as the sugar starts to dissolve. Bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce to medium high to maintain a boiling temperature for about 20-25 minutes. Stir frequently, as the mixture thickens.

The mixture will initially foam constantly, then the foam will reduce as the jam is finishing it's cooking time. Test the jam by dropping a teaspoon's worth onto a plate. When it thickens and doesn't run, it is done. Remove from the heat and pour into sterile jars. Process in a hot water bath and then store in a cool dark place; or store in the refrigerator until ready to use. The jam will keep in the refrigerator for up to a month or alternatively, you can freeze it for up to 6 months. Enjoy!

banana bread cake
3 ripe bananas, mash
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 c oil
mix together, then add
2 cup flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
3 Tbsps cinnamon
put in a flour cake pan (8x10 pan is in the picture)
bake at 400 for 35mins
let cool and eat.

7 oz) white chocolate
(7 oz) plain chocolate
(2½ oz) crunchy peanut butter
(2½ oz / 2¼ cups) Cheerios
Instructions
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or baking parchment
Melt the plain chocolate in a heat proof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, making sure the base of the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Stir until smooth and remove the bowl from the pan.
Melt the white chocolate in the same way and remove from the heat. Add the peanut butter to the white chocolate and stir well until smooth.
Add (1 cup) of Cheerios to the melted dark chocolate and stir thoroughly until all the hoops are covered with chocolate. Add the remaining Cheerios to the melted white chocolate and do the same.
Drop tablespoonfuls of the chocolate mix into the prepared pan, then add a tablespoonful of the white mixture on top of the chocolate. Chill for 2-3 hours until firm.
Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

halved and seeded acorn squash
3 Tbsp plus 1 tsp oil, divided
Coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 diced large onion
1 tsp chopped fresh sage
1 tsp fresh thyme
1lb hamburger
1 can slice mushrooms
1 small can of dice tomatoes.
Directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Brush squash with 1 tsp oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast cut side down until tender, about 30 minutes. Flip and set aside.

Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add onion, hamburger, sage, thyme, mushroom, dice tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, hamburger is done, about 12 minutes.

Divide stuffing between squash halves and roast until golden, 15 to 20 minutes.
