FRESH ICE BOX PICKLES.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Bunch of Dill
4 Cloves of Garlic
8-12 Pickling Cucumbers
3 Cups of Water
6 Tbsp of Distilled Vinegar (5% acidity or above)
3 Tbsp of Pickling Salt

INSTRUCTIONS:
~ Place one minced garlic into each quart size jar
~ Add a few sprigs of dill to each jar
~ Don't stress about the exact amount, each jar will be different each time
~ Cut Pickles into spears or any shape you wish
~ Pack them into jars without forcing them in

~Combine Water, Vinegar, and Salt and stir until the salt is completely dissolved
~Pour brine into jars until cucumbers are completely covered
~ Add a few more sprigs of dill on the top
~ Screw on lids and rings

~ Refrigerate for 2 AGONIZING DAYS!!!
As I said, we spiced it up a bit by adding sliced jalapenos & sweet onions to a few jars.
2 Days, 2 whole days and we will be back with a report on how they taste! And I doubt they will be anything but perfect!
NOTE: If your pickling cukes are a bit soft and not crisp, place them into a bucket of VERY cold water for a little bite. That will crisp them up for you. This works for carrots, beets, and green beans as well.
